With the school year in full swing, our girls are looking forward to a successful year. During our Care sessions, we have been looking at Goal setting, focusing primarily on academic growth.
We have been following the Smart goal setting methodology as set out below:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Action based
R - Realistic
T - Timely
I encourage you to have a discussion with your daughter about her goals. I also suggest checking in a few times over the term, this can help maintain focus on what is important to their studies. You may also like to create a visual representation of the goal to place on their desk or vision board.
SMART goals are not intended to be large and grandiose, but smaller manageable goals that lead to the ultimate desired outcome. They reflect on Growth Mindset, by acknowledging there are many small steps to success, and there will trials and tribulations along the way.
‘Dreams are a wish the heart makes; goals are the stepping stones to them’
