Girls Grammar Prefects
In just over two weeks, we will be announcing our Prefects for 2023 following voting by our Years 4-12 students and staff last week. These 10 girls will commence in their role at the beginning of Term 4 this year as our Year 12 students will be sitting their external exams.
Recently during our weekly meetings, the current Prefects have expressed how quickly time has passed since they were awarded their position this time last year and I would have to agree with them. From excited novices, they have developed their skills in planning and organising events, public speaking, problem-solving and time management as well as developing their self-confidence. It has been a pleasure to work alongside these girls on the projects and activities they have delivered for our school community as well as observe their leadership journey. I know they all have the potential to do great things moving forward.
To the girls who are about to take on the position, I also look forward to hearing and implementing your ideas and projects, and watching your growth as you take on this key role within our school.
As a team you will be required to be inclusive, promote cohesiveness, represent our school with dignity and pride, be available to help, display the Girls Grammar values and be an excellent role model for all other students, amongst other traits.
Thank you to all the girls who put in the time and effort to apply for a 2023 Prefect position. Next year will provide opportunities for you to work together as a cohort and fulfill leadership responsibilities in your area of strength whether or not you attain a Prefect position.
Thank you to our current Prefects for a wonderful year and I look forward to working with our new student leaders next term.
