Heidi is one of our Year 10 boarding students who has been a part of our Girls Grammar family since 2015.

We caught up with Heidi to ask her some questions about her schooling and boarding experiences here at Girls Grammar.

Tell us a little about yourself

"I have lived on a property called Lumeah all my life which is 65km east of Middlemount. My family run a brahman stud there named Viva Brahmans. I have three sisters and my elder sister actually attended Girls Grammar from 2013 - 2017.

My family has three other cattle properties near Clermont so on my holidays I enjoy helping my family muster and do yard work. With a strong cattle background, I love being a part of the Girls Grammar Show Team where I get the opportunity to show and judge cattle. Every year, my family try to donate some brahman cattle to the show team which is great to be able to show some of my own cattle.

On the weekends I also participant in local camp drafts with my family and friends which is heaps of fun."

What do you like about boarding at Girls Grammar?

"Boarding at Girls Grammar is great. The girls here are like another family to me. We are all very close and the memories we make and fun we have, especially on the weekend, is something I will always remember.

When I am stressed out with assignments or feeling homesick, I know I can always count on the other girls to make me feel better.

Our dorm mistresses are also great. I know I can always turn to them when I need help or have any problems at school or in boarding. They always make an effort to help me feel comfortable and safe."
