Study and Stress Management - A Message from Deputy Principal

With exams season just around the corner, it is important that we are ready to study and complete assignments in the most efficient and effective way possible. The first key to success is creating your perfect study environment. This may be your bedroom, the dining room table, the library or a dedicated space just for you. Other things that should be considered is when, how and who you work with.

To keep on track with your study, a timetable or plan is essential. Don’t just plan your study time, when planning make sure you leave time for your favourite TV show, sporting commitments, social media and most importantly family and friends. Once your non-negotiable time has been set aside you can see what time you have left for study, homework and assignments and you're more likely to use this time wisely.

Once you are into the groove of your work it's important to take regular breaks to give your brain some space to process what you are working on. Keeping hydrated is also essential.

Possibly the three most important things to focus on are diet, sleep and taking timeout. It is essential that you consume quality food and water, get regular quality sleep and give yourself a break. It is these last three points that most often fall by the wayside when we get busy.

Establishing a good study/work routine early and learning appropriate social media habits allow you to more successfully manage the ‘hard times’.
