Last week, our Rockhampton Girls Grammar students returned from an incredible seven-day educational journey through Canberra and Brisbane.
Throughout the tour, students explored the heart of Australian democracy with visits to Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy, the High Court of Australia, and the National Electoral Education Centre. They also gained valuable insights into Australia's military history and service through their experiences at the Australian War Memorial.
Students embraced hands-on learning at Questacon, the National Museum of Australia, the National Gallery of Australia, and the National Capital Exhibition, while creating unforgettable memories during a snowplay session at Corin Forest. The Brisbane leg of the tour included visits to The University of Queensland, the Abbey Medieval Festival, the RD Milns Antiquities Museum, and the Museum of Brisbane.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) Program, whose funding support helped make this valuable educational experience more accessible for our students. The opportunity to engage directly with Australia's democratic institutions provided powerful real-world learning beyond the classroom.
Thank you also to our staff for their support and dedication throughout the trip, and congratulations to our students for representing the School with enthusiasm, curiosity and excellence.
