School
OUR
Set atop Athelstane Range overlooking Rockhampton in Central Queensland, we are fortunate to be custodians of heritage buildings and long standing traditions, while embracing change and innovation.

Regarded as a leading centre of education for girls, Girls Grammar is an independent non-denominational school offering day and boarding facilities for continuous education from Prep to Year 12. Boarding is available from Year 6.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds across the state, the Northern Territory and internationally.

Girls Grammar specialises in girls education. Research shows that girls achieve and learn better in girls-only schools. In a single-sex school, girls are surrounded by female role models, self-confidence is nurtured in a supportive environment, and any stereotypes about what girls can or should study don’t exist. Girls in girls’ schools are also more likely to continue to play team sports into their senior years.

At Girls Grammar, equal opportunity is not an issue, because girls get every opportunity. Our students are nurtured, challenged and supported to participate, collaborate, think critically and achieve. Every aspect of teaching and learning is tailored to girls, to developing their self-efficacy, growing their leadership and empowering them with the skills and confidence to compete, lead and take risks in our 21st century world.

In addition to excellent primary and secondary educational opportunities, students also have access to the Central Queensland University (CQU) which has established a first-class reputation for its educational offerings, particularly in Business, Health and Engineering. Girls Grammar also works in partnership with the Rockhampton College of TAFE (now merged with CQU) which also offers an excellent variety of courses and study options for girls seeking to broaden their education and post-schooling pathways.

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE
We acknowledge the pressures and hectic schedules that affect today's families and lifestyle and offer an After School Care and Vacation Care program. There is also free supervised play at the School from 7:15am on school days.
AFFORDABLE EDUCATION
Many families are pleasantly surprised at just how affordable a private school education is, and find that it is a reasonable amount to pay for peace of mind in knowing your daughter will have access to the Girls Grammar Advantage.
INTERACTIVE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES
The Year 4 to Year 12 Personal Laptop Program is complemented by our wireless network meaning our girls have the ability to learn through interactive technologies in all teaching spaces.
