Empowering Generations: A Celebration of International Women's Day at Rockhampton Girls Grammar School

Updated: Mar 11

On Friday 8 March, in honour of International Women's Day, students came together to recognise and celebrate the remarkable social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women worldwide. Dressing up as inspirational women in their lives, there were iconic figures to personal mentors, each chosen woman symbolised resilience, strength, and determination. By embodying these influential figures, the girls showcased their support for women's rights and advancement in all spheres of life.

As a School community we extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to our donation drive, aimed at assisting women in need. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of those less fortunate. All donations will be distributed to the Rockhampton Women’s Shelter and Women’s Health Centre Rockhampton, where they will provide essential support to women in our community. Donation boxes are available at Reception and the Early Learning Centre until Monday, 11 March.

Let's continue to uplift and empower women, not just on International Women's Day, but every day. Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive world for all.
