Several members of our Girls Grammar community have been heavily involved with the Rockhampton Council’s production of ‘Into the Woods’ this term. It’s fantastic to see students and staff involved in a professional production representing our Girls Grammar community with pride and we wish them all the best for their opening night tonight!
Our school facilities have played an important role in this production, with our music teacher Jessica Dawes taking on the role of Musical Director for the show, she has hosted the orchestra's rehearsals in our music rooms on Monday evenings. This has given them a place to practice before moving into the theatre.
We have Rockhampton Girls Grammar School staff and student representation across all aspects of the show with; Jessica Dawes as Musical Director conducting the orchestra with Year 10 student Alessandra Williams playing the synthesizer, teacher Emma Girle playing ‘Jack’s Mother’ and Year 12 student Claudia Heffer as ‘Puppeteer and Sleeping Beauty’, both part of the onstage performers and teacher Sophie Harwood as Assistant Stage Manager, part of the backstage crew.
The show is running both this weekend and next, grab your tickets from the see it live Pilbeam Theatre website as they are selling fast!
