Inspiring future careers in the beef industry!
Last Friday, Girls Grammar welcomed Amy Atkinson from Nolan Meats to chat with our Year 9 and 10 students about the exciting and diverse career opportunities available to women in the beef industry.
As People and Culture Manager at Nolan Meats and an MLA Red Meat Ambassador, Amy gave our girls a behind-the-scenes insight into her role, her own career journey, and the many pathways available across the red meat industry. Sharing her journey, Amy highlighted that careers don't always follow a straight path and that sometimes it's about embracing opportunities, trying new things, and discovering where your true passions lie.
Her story was a wonderful reminder that there are so many ways to find your place in agriculture and that you don't necessarily have to know where you're heading from the very beginning. But it wasn't just about exploring future careers! Amy also shared some fantastic tips on writing a standout resume, preparing for job interviews, and making a great first impression, valuable skills our students can take with them into the future.
A huge thank you to Amy for sharing her knowledge, experiences, and passion with our students. It's inspiring to see women leading the way, encouraging the next generation, and showing our girls, just how many opportunities are out there. We hope Amy's visit has sparked some curiosity and perhaps even inspired a few future careers in the beef industry!
