Phoenix officially a published author!

We are so incredibly proud to share the amazing success of 2025 graduate Phoenix Nuggins.

From attending a writers’ workshop in Year 12 through the Cape York Leadership Program, Phoenix has now officially become a published author! Her children’s book Brooke’s Big Dance (part of the Our Yarning collection and illustrated by Isabella E.) shares a heartfelt story of courage, culture, and confidence, as young Brooke overcomes her nerves to perform at the Laura Dance Festival with the support of her grandmother, Gumba Mary.

Available now through Dymocks and other online retailers, with proceeds supporting reading initiatives.

Adding to this achievement, Phoenix has also been recognised in the 7News Young Achievers Awards (QLD), receiving a ‘Highly Regarded’ acknowledgement. What an amazing milestone!
