Regional Tour Strengthens Rural Connections

Last term, Rockhampton Girls Grammar travelled across regional Queensland, connecting with current, past and prospective families while strengthening the School's long-standing relationships with rural and remote communities.

Principal Kara Krehlik and Head of Boarding Phoebe Hines attended the Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA) Queensland State Conference in Atherton, where they met with families from across the state and celebrated the important role boarding education plays in supporting regional students. The conference also provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with current Girls Grammar families, including Bonni Geddes (Capricornia Delegate) and Genevieve Hawkins (Aramac–Muttaburra Delegate), as well as former Girls Grammar parent Elizabeth Shoecraft (Dawson Valley Delegate and ICPA Life Member).

The regional tour continued in Emerald, where Principal Kara Krehlik and Deputy Principal – Students Kathy King hosted a community catch-up, enjoying the opportunity to reconnect with current, former and prospective families in a relaxed setting.

Meanwhile, Executive Assistant Emily McKelvie and Marketing and Events Manager Amy Jacobsen represented the School at the Ag-Grow Emerald Field Days, spending three days engaging with hundreds of families from across Central Queensland. The event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the many opportunities available at Girls Grammar while building new connections and strengthening existing relationships within the regional community.
