Show Team
On Saturday, the Show Team had another very successful Show at Mt Larcom. We had numerous placings with our steers and also placing for our students in the Junior Judging and Junior Parading competitions. One of our highlights included Ella and Holly both winning their respective age groups in Parading; Ella won the final and went on to compete in the Regional Finals. She did herself proud with a 3rd place.
It was a fabulous show with so much positivity and wonderful feedback for the RGGS Show Team. Some of our girls will be attending the Rockhampton Junior Beef Show and then its time a for rest before our next shows in August.
Year 12 Agriculture
Today, the Year 12 Agriculture class was invited to participate in an educational day at Teys meatworks in partnership with CQUniversity. The day consisted of surveys and discussing perceptions about the Australian Red Meat Industry. The girls had a full tour of the plant from start to finish of the process and they were so impressed with the standards and values of the system. We finished the morning with a wonderful steak and salad. Special thanks to Teys management and staff and CQUniversity for facilitating such a wonderful experience for our students.
