Year 9 Camp
What a week it was! From the moment our Year 9 students arrived at camp and were split into the Wandara and Gi-Gum teams, they embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, resilience and teamwork.
Over three action-packed days in Term 3, students put their communication skills to the test through team-building activities, took on exciting adventures including kayaking at Awoonga Dam, conquered high ropes, built shelters, cooked in the bush, and worked together to solve problems in a range of challenging scenarios. Along the way, they learnt the importance of trust, encouragement, leadership and perseverance.
The camp concluded with Operation Shoreline at Tannum Beach, bringing both teams together for one final challenge and a chance to reflect on everything they had achieved. While there were certainly some tired faces by the end of the week, there were also plenty of proud moments, new friendships and lifelong memories made.
A huge thank you to Ms Miller-Waugh, Ms Glasswell, Ms King, Ms Anderson, our staff, BIEEC team, visiting staff and everyone who helped make this incredible experience possible. Your support, guidance and encouragement gave our students an opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, discover their strengths and create memories they will carry with them for years to come.
