This information is for all students that would like to play club netball for Girls Grammar in 2025. The following information will allow families to mark these dates in your calendar and plan to keep those days free.
It is extremely important for those that want to play club netball to attend their age group trial so teams can be selected and organised properly. Those wanting to trial for QISSN must be present at the QISSN trial.
While exact times have not been finalised, this will give you an idea of the time range to keep free (please remember this is the age your daughter is turning in 2025):Â
QISSN Trials : Friday 31 January between 3.30pm – 7.30pm (the 2025 coach has not been appointed yet, so times will be dependent on the coach’s availability - the trial will be approximately 2 hours). Please note that this is the Friday of Week 1.
For those who are unsure what this is, the QISSN team is our schools’ top representative team. The QISSN team will travel to Bundaberg in June to play a state-wide carnival against teams consisting of senior players (most teams consist of players in Year levels 10, 11 and 12). There is a much higher level of commitment for those selected in this team with multiple training sessions per week.
If selected, costs to attend the QISSN carnival will be between $1000 - $1500. Players selected in this team are also required to play with the team in the RNA competition as a part of their weekly team preparation.
Players must be in Year 8 or above to trial for the QISSN team and they should be experienced players only please.
Those selected in the QISSN squad will not be required to attend their age group trial, however, those players that don’t get selected in the squad will also need to attend their age group trial the following week to be placed in a club team.
9 – 11 Years : Tuesday 4 February 3.30pm-5.30pm (Week 2)
12 – 13 Years : Wednesday 5 February 3.30pm-5.30pm (Week 2)
14 – 15 Years : Thursday 6 February 3.30pm-5.30pm (Week 2)
16+ Years : Friday 7Â February 3.30pm-5.30pm (Week 2)
Â
Please note: at the conclusion of their age trial, players may be asked to attend the trial for an older age group on the next day if selectors deem it necessary based on ability. Age trials will be approximately 1 hour to 1½ hours in length.
