The annual Naarah’s Touch Carnival continues to be a highlight on our school calendar. It’s a special day where students from all year levels come together, celebrating teamwork, connection, and the legacy of Naarah.

From the very first game, the atmosphere was filled with energy, determination, and plenty of smiles. While the competition was fierce at times, the girls consistently displayed impressive sportsmanship, encouragement, and genuine care for one another, demonstrating exactly what this day is all about.

Before games kicked off, students took a moment to reflect on Naarah’s vibrant personality and the values she embodied. This reminder set the tone, inspiring everyone to give their best effort on and off the field.

The round games were packed with exciting moments: Williams secured an early win, Paterson’s Jalime and Williams’ Alissa dazzled with their quick footwork, while Smith and Downs battled it out for a gritty draw. In the second round, Paterson claimed their first victory with a strong 4–2 win over Smith, while Downs edged out Williams 2–1 in a nail-biter. After close games and mixed results, it all came down to round 3 to determine who would be fighting out the final. Downs were too strong for Paterson ending their run, while Williams just managed to hold on in a tight game 5-4 against Smith to earn their spot in the final.

The grand final was a showcase of skill, determination, and heart. Both Williams and Downs had opportunities early, but rock-solid defence kept the scoreboard locked at 0–0 well into the second half. It was Williams who eventually broke through. Hayley showed incredible pace to carve through the defence and score from deep in her own half, despite Laine giving chase. Everyone held their breath as Hayley’s little legs worked overtime to hold Laine’s large strides at bay. Team Williams breathed a sigh of relief as Hayley held on to give Williams a 1-0 lead, finally breaking the deadlock. Downs nearly responded with slick attacking play from Bria and Sophie, but a forward pass denied them the equaliser. Williams sealed the win when Alissa once again lit up the field with her trademark speed, taking the final to 2–0. Hayley’s outstanding performance earned her the title of Player of the Final, while Paterson proudly took home the House Spirit Award for their unmatched, boisterous vocals throughout the day.

The carnival was a fitting celebration of teamwork, resilience, and school spirit. A perfect way to wrap up the term!
