What a wonderful week it has been for our boarding community! I am delighted to share some of the highlights and exciting events that have taken place recently.
Emerald Boarding Expo
Last Thursday and Friday, I had the pleasure of traveling to Emerald to meet with prospective families at the Boarding Expo. With 21 boarding schools in attendance, it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our exceptional school and all it has to offer. The enthusiasm from the families and their daughters was palpable, and it was truly an easy sell to talk about the wonderful experiences at Girls Grammar. We look forward to welcoming new families to our community over the next few years.
Country Spirit Day at St Brendan's College
On the public holiday Monday, over 50 of our girls, along with numerous staff members, headed to St Brendan's College for the Country Spirit Day of activities. It was a day filled with fun and camaraderie as we watched the boys tackle the mechanical bull and we participated in mixed touch football games. The boat racing with an obstacle course were a hit, and we cheered our girls on with great pride. Other activities included horseshoe throwing, live music, basketball, and volleyball. We extend our heartfelt thanks to St Brendan's College for hosting such a memorable day. The mid-activity downpour was a refreshing surprise that the farmers back home would surely have appreciated!
ABSA Review
This week, we had the privilege of welcoming Richard Stokes and Jared Daunt from the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) for a review of our boarding program. They conducted interviews with our girls, families, and staff to assess our strengths and areas for improvement. This review is part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, and we look forward to their feedback to enhance our boarding experience further.
Mother's Day Soiree
We are excited to conclude this week with our wonderful Mother's Day Soiree. The boarders will be hosting a stall in the markets at the soiree, making it a perfect event to attend with your mothers, daughters, aunts, and grandmothers. It promises to be a lovely celebration of family and community.
National Boarding Week Launch
As we wrap up this week, we are thrilled to launch National Boarding Week on Sunday. The fun and excitement never stop at Girls Grammar, and we have a series of engaging activities planned to celebrate our vibrant boarding community.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making Girls Grammar a fantastic place for our boarders. We look forward to sharing more wonderful moments with you in the weeks to come.
