Celebrating Excellence: ATAR Results for the Class of 2025

ree

The wait is over, ATAR results for the Class of 2025 have arrived! This year, Rockhampton Girls Grammar School is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our graduating students. Leading the way are three outstanding scholars, Aysan Aghaei, Charlotte Crawford and Alessandra Williams who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience throughout their senior years. Aysan received an outstanding ATAR of 98.35, Charlotte Crawford with an impressive 96.85 and Alessandra Williams with a brilliant score of 96.70.

With these fantastic results, our girls have the world at their feet and limitless paths to explore. Alessandra’s journey is set to lead her into a life surrounded by creatures great and small as she follows her passion for animals and pursues her goal of studying veterinary science at university.

Aysan and Charlotte share a common ambition: to pursue a career in medicine. Both graduates have expressed their desire to maintain a strong connection with Girls Grammar as part of our Alumni network, offering tutoring and mentorship to future students. Their journeys reflect not only academic excellence but also the values of community, leadership, and perseverance that define Girls Grammar.

Recently, we had the opportunity to ask Aysan and Charlotte about their time at Girls Grammar. Here’s what they had to say about their aspirations, favourite subjects, and reflections on their time at Girls Grammar:

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?

Aysan: “I hope to pursue a career in healthcare, with the goal of studying Medicine or Dentistry, particularly in rural areas, where I hope to be part of the solution to ongoing challenges in rural and Indigenous healthcare.”

Charlotte: “I am hoping to study medicine in 2026, I had interviews across QLD, NSW, VIC, and SA. I would be stoked with any, but I’m hoping to get into the CQU/UQ rural medical pathways degree.”

WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL OR DREAM JOB?

Aysan: “My ultimate goal is to become a doctor and specialise in surgery. At this stage, I’m particularly interested in Otolaryngology; however, my plan is to gain broad experience across different specialties during medical school and choose my pathway based on where my strengths and interests align.”

Charlotte: “Honestly, I have no idea! I’d like to be a specialist in some field of medicine but not sure which yet, something that keeps me on my toes. I have thought about specialties like oncology or paediatrics, but I think I won’t be sold on anything until I get a chance to witness what they are like firsthand.”

WHAT SUBJECT/S DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST AND WHY?

Aysan: “I have always had a strong passion for science and mathematics, which led me to choose Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Specialist Mathematics, and Mathematical Methods in my final two years. However, Chemistry was the subject I enjoyed most, as it uniquely combined scientific concepts with mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking. I am especially grateful to Ms Dey, whose teaching and guidance played a crucial role in developing my passion for Chemistry and supporting my academic excellence in the subject.”

Charlotte: “Biology and Chemistry. Chemistry is one of those subjects that challenges you and sometimes makes you want to rip your hair out, but other times (when you understand it) is actually quite fun and makes you feel pretty smart.

For me, Biology was a subject that I just found quite fun to learn about. There’s so much to it, and most of the time it wasn’t too difficult, which made it a nice change of pace from my other subjects.”

WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT GIRLS GRAMMAR?

Aysan: “What I will miss most about Rockhampton Girls Grammar is its strong sense of community and celebration, created through events such as Book Week, Science Week, Harmony Day, NAIDOC Week, ANZAC Day, Muck-up Day, Musical, Girls Rock, and dress-up days. I will also deeply miss the 2025 senior cohort and the strong sense of sisterhood and female empowerment that defines Girls Grammar across academics, sport, arts, and beyond.”

Charlotte: “The people. The community and people made school feel less like somewhere that I had to be and more like somewhere I wanted to be. GG girls and staff, teaching or not, were people I loved spending every day with and are what I will truly miss about Girls Grammar.”

ARE THERE ANY TEACHERS OR MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY YOU’D LIKE TO GIVE SPECIAL MENTION TO?

Aysan: “I am incredibly grateful to all the staff, teachers, and members of the school community at Rockhampton Girls Grammar for their ongoing support and dedication. I would especially like to thank Ms Miller-Waugh, who was a constant source of support. Her care and encouragement meant so much to me.

I would also like to thank my subject teachers, including Dr Tickner, Mrs Dey, Mrs Ladewig, Ms Cranny, Dr Kelly, and Dr Fry, for their guidance, dedication, and encouragement throughout my studies. Their support and belief in my potential pushed me to grow both academically and personally, with special thanks to Dr Kelly and Dr Fry for kindly writing my recommendation letters.”

Charlotte: “There are too many teachers that made an invaluable impact on my time at Girls Grammar, so I won’t name them all. But if I had to choose someone, I can’t go past Dr Fry. His unwavering support and belief in me over the past years was especially impactful. Teaching Specialist is no joke, and I am sure my habit of chatting away and getting the class distracted made it a whole lot harder, but he was always calm and genuinely wanted the best for us.”

Congratulations to Aysan, Charlotte, Alessandra and the entire Class of 2025 on their incredible achievements. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of you!
