A Magical Evening at the Mother’s Day Twilight Soirée

There was something truly magical in the air as the sun set over Rockhampton Girls Grammar School for our annual Mother’s Day Twilight Soirée. Held around the picturesque Paterson House, McKeague Hall and Littleton Plaza, the event brought together students, families, and staff in celebration of the incredible women who nurture, support and inspire us.

Guests were treated to an enchanting evening filled with warmth and community spirit. The evening featured live musical performances from our talented students — Tahlia and Josie, Alexandra, and Davena — whose heartfelt renditions created a beautiful ambiance and left the audience smiling. Their passion and talent truly added something special to the event. Let’s not forget, Charlotte and Bria, our karaoke queens, who lit up the stage and had the dance floor buzzing with energy.

Adding a vibrant splash of creativity was our Live Art Show, showcasing the exceptional artistic talents of Molly, Taylah, Amelia, Rebecca, Sophie, and Mia. Guests were able to watch their works unfold in real time, bringing the arts to life in an engaging and inspiring way.

The Mini Night Market was another much-loved highlight of the evening, offering handmade treasures crafted by our own students. From self-designed artworks to handmade gifts, the market showcased the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of our Girls Grammar girls. A special mention must go to Year 6 student Olivia, who spent weeks creating her own range of handmade bracelets and necklaces. Olivia generously donated 100% of her profits from the evening to the School Building Fund — a gesture that truly embodies the spirit of giving and community we value so deeply at Girls Grammar.

The evening was made even more memorable with live entertainment from Tim McMullen, whose music set a relaxed and joyful tone. His performance brought everyone together, whether it was for a quiet chat under the fairy lights or a dance with loved ones.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our wonderful staff and student volunteers. From setting up stalls and assisting with logistics to performing and showcasing talents, their contributions ensured the night ran smoothly and left a lasting impression on all who attended.

We are thrilled to share that the evening raised over $1,500 for the School Building Fund, which supports the ongoing refurbishment and enhancement of our learning facilities. Every dollar helps us continue to provide a supportive and inspiring environment for our students.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event — your presence helped make the evening one to remember. We are proud to celebrate not only the special women in our lives but also the incredible talent, generosity, and community spirit of our Girls Grammar family.
