Girls Grammar Hits All the Right Notes in Interhouse Choir Showdown

McKeague Hall pulsed with excitement as students, staff, and supporters gathered for one of the most anticipated events on the Girls Grammar calendar, the annual Interhouse Choir Competition. After weeks of rehearsals, costume planning, and vocal warm-ups echoing through the corridors, the 2025 showdown delivered a spectacular celebration of music, creativity, and school spirit.

This year’s theme Boy Bands brought out the pop star in every student, as each house delivered iconic hits with flair, harmony, and choreography that would make the original artists proud. The hall was transformed into a concert arena, with students singing along, cheering for their houses, and soaking up the electric atmosphere.

• Williams brought nostalgia with Backstreet Boys

• Downs lit up the hall with One Direction

• Smith delivered a throwback with NSYNC

Adding a delightful twist to the morning, Mrs King made a grand entrance in an outfit that featured every Girls Grammar house colour, a bold and brilliant display of Interhouse unity. Her rainbow-inspired ensemble drew smiles and laughter, perfectly capturing the joyful spirit of the day.

Competition Results:

After much applause and deliberation, the judges crowned Williams as this year’s champions with a polished and energetic performance. Paterson followed closely in second place, while Downs secured third with their vibrant performance. Smith rounded out the competition with a heartfelt and enthusiastic showing.
