Inspiring Pathways: Real Women, Real Careers

Throughout this term, our senior girls have been treated to empowering and eye-opening sessions with an incredible lineup of guest speakers — all passionate professionals breaking boundaries in their industries. From health to defence, rail to mental health, our students were given a front-row seat to the diverse and exciting careers available to them.

Many of our guest speakers had personal ties to Girls Grammar, including parents Anthony Kutty, Hayley Van Den Burg, and Caitlin Booker, whose presence not only showcased their industries but also highlighted the strong connections between our school and the wider community.

CQ Radiography offered a behind-the-scenes look into the world of medical imaging and how technology and empathy go hand-in-hand in healthcare.

Aurizon, Australia's largest rail freight operator, spoke about careers in logistics and operations and how women are moving the industry forward - literally!

Anthony Kutty, Psychotherapist, encouraged students to explore the vital field of mental health support, where compassion, resilience, and active listening are key.

Podiatrist Hayley Van Den Burg shared her journey into podiatry and the unique role it plays in improving mobility and health outcomes across all ages and the highlight of her career in designing shoes for people!

Forensic Crash Officer Caitlin Booker from QPS captivated students with real stories from the field, offering insight into investigative police work and the impact it has on communities.

Representatives from the Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Australian Navy spoke about adventure, leadership, and service, showing how diverse and rewarding life in the Defence Forces can be.

And perhaps the most heartwarming moment of all — former student Camryn McPherson, now proudly studying with the Australian Army, connected over Teams to share her journey from our classrooms to further education and life on base. Her story lit a fire in many, proving that dreams backed by dedication can absolutely come true.

We are looking forward to the next few speakers we have lined up!

To all our incredible guests — thank you. Your stories are more than career talks; they’re blueprints of possibility.
