Rockhampton Girls Grammar Boarding Bulletin

We are midway through the term and are having a wonderful time in boarding.

This past weekend we had girls venture out to Blackwater on their first Army Cadets camp and the Year 7 and 8 boarders headed to St Ursula’s for a social and had an absolute blast. We all watched proudly as our beautiful Year 12 girls walked the red carpet at the Formal. The girls looked stunning and the reaction and cheers from their boarding family were wonderful, making it a very special occasion. The formal dinner was a memorable evening celebrating and dancing with family and friends. On Sunday after our girls competed in the Rocky River Run, Rocky Grammar invited us up to their school for a sausage sizzle and an afternoon with some furry and feathered friends. It was an experience that the girls really embraced.

More fun and shenanigans are planned this weekend with a Year 8 and 9 fun night at Girls Grammar and a trip to the cinema.

Cold and flu season is well upon us and we ask that if your daughter is unwell that you keep her home if possible. We have reminded girls to be mindful of spreading germs and if they are feeling unwell to head to the Health Centre and avoid group situations. Rest and fluids are required for these girls although some of them are reluctant to miss classes. Due to this we don’t allow girls out to play sport or other activities if they are spending considerable time in the Health Centre during the school day. It is great to see such dedication from our girls but we are also mindful of their health and wellbeing.

Have a fabulous weekend.
