Year 8 students had an incredible time at camp last week at PCYC Yeppoon, where learning, laughter, and leadership came together in an unforgettable experience. From the moment they arrived, students were immersed in a wide range of exciting activities designed to challenge, inspire, and build connections.
The days were packed with adventure — from scaling the rock climbing wall and strategising in laser tag, to paddling through canoeing sessions and working together to build rafts that (mostly!) stayed afloat. Crate stacking tested balance and nerves, while initiative games encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership in action.
One of the highlights was the beach scavenger hunt, where students explored the coastline, searching for natural treasures and working in teams to solve clues. This was followed by a creative session where students collaborated to produce a stunning art piece using natural materials, reflecting both the beauty of the environment and the spirit of cooperation.
Evenings were filled with fun and connection, culminating in the much-loved Annual Talent Show. Students took to the stage with confidence and flair, showcasing a wide range of talents — from singing and dancing to comedy and magic. The energy in the room was electric, and the support from peers was heartwarming.
Camp was more than just fun — it was a chance for students to grow, challenge themselves, and build lasting memories. What a fantastic experience for all!
