We have had an exciting week in boarding!
Last weekend we went for a day trip to Great Keppel Island and had a fantastic time. The weather was perfect and we spent most of the time in the water. It was lovely to see all our boarder girls jumping in the water off the sandbags, laughing, squealing and helping each other back up. Watching them have fun with girls of all grades and backgrounds was a highlight and was a testament to the friendliness and inclusivity of our girls towards all others. There were hourly check ins and sunscreen applications, and lots of weary girls once we returned home. We also had a lovely formal dinner for Melbourne Cup night. Kent and his team made a delicious bacon-wrapped chicken breast with sweet potato mash, broccolini and creamy garlic sauce. The girls were served by myself and the other boarding staff. Crème Brulee for dessert was delicious. The Year 9 girls helped set the tables and clean up afterwards. Friday night we have our Christmas dinner which I’m sure will be another wonderful feast from Kent.
This weekend Deanne Johnston and I will be heading to Taroom and Roma region to meet with past, present and prospective Girls Grammar families. I hope you come and join us if you live down that way. We love these visits to the districts in which our families reside. Please contact Wendy Sheppard on 0749 300912 for more details.
Have a fantastic weekend.
