Boarding Bulletin

Boarding schools are vital to our rural and remote families. This was evident after spending this week at the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association conference and meeting with families at Roma, Charleville, Alpha and Emerald. We learned a great deal about the issues affecting our remote families. It was wonderful to spend this time with families and schools that share our passion for the education and well-being of children. Current families were grateful for what we are doing at Girls Grammar. One of the keys to our success is our small, friendly and supportive school community yet we still manage to offer our girls a wide range of activities, sports and experiences which is precisely why parents send their daughters away to school.

The vastness of Queensland was apparent after travelling approximately 2500km this week. With Cunnamulla only an hour away from New South Wales, we drove for nearly ten hours just to get there.

As we head back to school we look forward to our Girls Grammar Race day on June 19. Most of our boarders are helping with either setting up, food preparation or serving. This is also an opportune time for our boarding families to get together. If you are available and wish to socialise with us and your fellow boarding parents on Race Day, please contact me.
