Hello from boarding this week.
We are soldiering on like everyone else through this heat wave that’s been relentless the past couple of weeks, choosing activities that are in air conditioning or in the water to keep us cool. This week we will head to Timezone and the pool over the weekend.
Gabby is one of our boarders who is keeping herself busy doing a traineeship at the pool this year. She is transported their by boarding staff for each shift. This is what Gabby has to say about her traineeship so far:
This year I started a traineeship at the Rockhampton pool and am loving every bit so far. I like that I learn new skills that will help me in the future. Being able to complete a cert III in sports and recreation is something I thought would suit me perfectly. After I finish this, I will be a fully qualified learn to swim teacher, lifeguard and have reception and café experience which I can use in the future.
