Boarding Bulletin

Late last term we had the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) send a survey to our girls and their families. Thank you to those who participated. We, as a whole school community, appreciate any feedback or suggestions and are working towards implementing many of those suggestions and ideas. It was pleasing to see that you are recognising the care, attention, good quality food offerings and general improvement in boarding activities, facilities and staffing. We are always looking to improve our processes and the overall experience in boarding and will continue to seek further feedback from the girls and their families in the future.

There were some comments about the lack of fresh food on offer in our dining room. This week Mrs Mitchell, our Facilities Manager, met with the girls at our Food Committee meeting. These meetings are open to all boarders and we encourage their attendance. Mrs Mitchell shared with the girls information about how our school uses fresh fruit and vegetables, delivered daily that her staff prepare. She also showed them examples of the meat (whole rumps etc) that are supplied by a local butcher. The girls did a tour of the kitchen to see where the food is prepared, fresh and cooked on a large grill and gas hotplates. It was very interesting and I believe the girls were impressed with the experience and information Mrs Mitchell shared.

The past weekend was all Musical, Musical, Musical. Over 80 of our girls went to watch the performance and had a terrific time. We were very proud of the nine boarders who were in the cast. Have a great week!
