Girls Grammar is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our First Nations students and staff, who have recently been recognised for their excellence, leadership, and contributions to both school and community. These awards reflect the strength, pride, and potential of our young people and the educators who support them.
Darumbal Community Youth Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards
These awards honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their education, community, and personal development.
Primary Awards:
Citizenship & Academic Award
Kinavai received dual recognition for academic excellence and active citizenship. Kinavai consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, cultural pride, and a willingness to contribute meaningfully to both school and community life.
Secondary Awards:
Citizenship Awards
Phoenix and Klaire were recognised for their strong sense of community, leadership, and positive influence within the school. Their ability to lead by example and support their peers makes them valued members of our student body.
Sporting Awards
Jalime and Lulu were celebrated for their achievements in sport, showcasing dedication, teamwork, and athletic talent. Their success highlights the importance of perseverance and commitment in both sport and life.
Academic Awards
Abigail and April earned accolades for their outstanding academic performance. Their focus, determination, and love of learning are truly inspiring and set a high standard for their peers.

QATSIF Awards
The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) supports educational opportunities for Indigenous students across Queensland.

QATSIF Young Indigenous Leader Award
The Young Indigenous Leader Award recognises students who show exceptional leadership, resilience, and cultural pride.
Thomaxena and Phoenix were honoured for their ability to lead with integrity and inspire others. Their voices and actions contribute meaningfully to both school and community life, and they continue to be role models for younger students.
QATSIF Deadly Educator Awards
We are thrilled to acknowledge two of our dedicated staff members:
Veronica Miller-Waugh and Shania Conlon were recognised as Deadly Educators for their outstanding support of First Nations students. Their advocacy, cultural mentorship, and commitment to student wellbeing have made a lasting impact on our school community. Through their work, they help create a culturally safe and empowering learning environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued.
