Headspace Presentation
To support our Year 9 and 10 Pastoral Care Program at Girls Grammar, Cherry from Headspace is presenting to the students on topics including understanding stress, self-care activities, and boundaries, focusing on respectful relationships and consent. The Year 10 students met with Cherry this week and the Year 9 cohort will have their presentation in Week 5.
Headspace offers a range of resources for improving mental health and wellbeing, physical and sexual health, work and study support, and alcohol and other drug services. If you have a young person (aged 12 – 25) in need of support, please contact Headspace Rockhampton on 49116040 or visit the service at 155 Alma Street.
“During the lesson when we listened to Cherry from Headspace, she gave us information about what positive and abusive relationships look like. I wasn't entirely sure what a toxic relationship looked like, so this was incredibly helpful. She also talked about how crucial consent is and clear communication is so important in all types of relationships.”

Year 11 Camp
Preparations are being finalised for next week’s Year 11 Camp at the Capricorn Caves. The students will participate in several adventure activities as well as activities to further develop each girl’s internal leadership capabilities.
Do It For Dolly Day

Students participated in a variety of engaging activities today, all aimed at spreading the crucial message that bullying is unacceptable. These activities included group discussions, role-playing scenarios and kindness initiatives. Each activity was designed to foster empathy, understanding, and create a supportive environment. Emphasis was placed on help-seeking behaviours to encourage students to reach out to trusted adults, if they or someone they know is experiencing bullying. The activities highlighted the importance of speaking up and seeking help, reinforcing the message that no one has to face bullying alone.
Formal
There are only 15 sleeps to go until the much anticipated Year 12 Formal. The girls have been practising their dancing, and we are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends. For those wishing to join us for the Walkthrough, please arrive at school by 3.45pm. The walkthrough commences at 4.00pm. Parking will be available for families in the staff carpark along Agnes Street and in lower Primary, accessible via Little Athelstane Street.
