Exploring Careers in Real Estate and Engineering

ree

Last week our students had the privilege of hearing from Elizabeth Hood, Principal of Elite Real Estate, accompanied by her colleague Jess Bennet. Elizabeth, who is also a valued parent within our community, shared her professional journey and insights into the world of real estate. She reminded the students that in this field the effort you give directly shapes the rewards you earn. You can put in as little or as much effort as you would like, but those are the rewards you will see. Jess added practical advice on what it takes to build trust and maintain professionalism with clients and the importance of what can happen when stepping outside your comfort zone. The session was engaging and inspiring, leaving students keen to learn more. We look forward to their return visit where they will discuss the important topic of how to rent—a valuable skill for young people preparing for independence.

Our students also welcomed representatives from Cummins who travelled from Mackay, a global leader in engines and power technology. The team shared exciting developments in the engines of the future, highlighting opportunities in sustainable energy and innovation. They spoke about diverse career pathways within engineering, mechanics, and technology, sparking curiosity among students about industries that are shaping the future.

We are grateful to both Elite Real Estate and Cummins for taking the time to connect with our students, offering them a glimpse into real-world careers and future opportunities.
