Prep
This term the preps have loved engaging in Technology lessons each week, learning how to operate and explore the capabilities of the Bee Bots. The girls used their problem-solving skills and creativity while working with Bee-Bots to successfully program them to follow specific paths via their computer, showing an understanding of sequencing and directional commands. They applied trial and error, adjusting their instructions as needed to ensure the Bee-Bot moved the directions that they wanted. It was certainly a-buzz!
Year 3

This term, Year 3 have been busy scientists and engineers! In Science, we explored states of matter by melting and reshaping chocolate to see how solids can change into liquids and back again.
We also enjoyed celebrating Diwali with one of our classmates, joining in by cleaning our classroom and lighting lamps to share in the festive spirit.
In Design and Technology, students learned about forces and structures as they designed and built bridges that could hold weight.
It’s been a wonderful term of hands-on learning, teamwork, and celebration in Year 3!

Year 6W
What a busy and exciting term it has been so far for 6W!

In Science, the girls have been exploring our solar system and investigating Earth’s relationship with the Sun. They have enjoyed creating their own models of the solar system and Earth, showing how the planets orbit, what causes day, night and the seasons and how Earth’s rotation and revolution around the Sun allows us to mark the passing of time.
We have been getting into the spirit of spooky season in English, with the girls writing their own ‘ghost story’ narratives. The girls have been using descriptive language and suspenseful techniques to send shivers down our spines. In the best way possible!
During HASS, we have been learning about citizenship and the levels of government in Australia. The girls have discussed what it means to be an active and responsible citizen and have explored how decisions are made in our communities and country.

Throughout Health this term, we have been exploring the importance of both physical and mental health. Through engaging activities, they examined how regular physical activity supports our bodies, while mindfulness and relaxation spaces help maintain a positive mindset. As part of their learning, students worked collaboratively to design school spaces that promote health and wellbeing. Their creative concepts included areas for movement, sport and active play, as well as calm zones for relaxation, reflection and connection.
One of the highlights of the term was our Grandparents Day celebration. The classroom was filled with smiles as the girls quizzed their grandparents about their life and interests and proudly presented handmade cards and bookmarks as special keepsakes.

We were also fortunate enough to receive a visit from Olympic Triathlete, Jaz Hedgeland who spoke to us about the importance of goal setting and bring able to adjust our goals if we experience barriers to achieving them, as opposed to giving up.
With the year quickly coming to an end, the girls are looking forward to their upcoming graduation. An exciting milestone that marks the end of their primary school journey.
6W continues to impress with their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings!
