As Term 3 draws to a close, our students have been busy exploring, creating, and developing new skills across PE, Technology, and Languages.
In Primary Physical Education, students have been refining their ball game techniques in preparation for the much-anticipated Ball Games event at the end of term. In Food & Technology, Year 5 & 6 students have been getting inventive in the kitchen, creating unique popcorn flavours that reflect their personalities and preferences.
This term was action-packed in the Girls Grammar Secondary PE program, with students diving into a wide variety of sports and learning experiences that kept hearts racing and minds engaged.
From the fast-paced footwork of Oztag, soccer, and futsal, to the strategic plays of touch football, netball, and cricket, students were constantly on the move — building skills, confidence and teamwork along the way. But PE this term wasn’t just about playing games; it was about understanding the science and strategy behind them.
Across the term, students explored key topics such as:
Sports nutrition — learning how to fuel their bodies for peak performance.
Anatomy and physiology — discovering how muscles, bones and energy systems work together during movement.
Motor learning — understanding how we develop and refine skills over time.
Training program design — creating fitness plans tailored to specific goals and sports.
Sport psychology — exploring the mental side of performance, including motivation, focus and resilience.
Barriers to sport participation — discussing the social and personal factors that impact access to physical activity.
Whether it was pushing through a beep test, mastering a new skill on the field, or unpacking the science behind performance in the classroom, students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity.
It’s been fantastic to see students not only improve physically but also grow in their understanding of what it means to be active, healthy and informed athletes.
Here’s to a well-earned break — and more movement, learning and fun in Term 4!

In Technology, our Middle School students have been designing their own games—laying the groundwork for coding them next term. They’ve also been busy in Food & Tech, developing tropical-themed ice-cream flavours and using 3D printing to create components for fashion items. Our Year 7 cohort have been applying their coding knowledge to build their own 'Hero Websites,' showcasing creativity and digital skills. Meanwhile, in PE they have been building their OzTag skills and learning about nutrition, combining physical activity with healthy lifestyle education.
In Spanish, students have been expanding their skills across a range of engaging topics. Year 7 are learning to talk about their hobbies, while Year 8 are focusing on vocabulary and phrases related to sporting activities. Years 9 and 10 have taken on the challenge of writing newspaper-style articles in Spanish, exploring the topic of social media and its impact.
It’s been a vibrant and productive term, and we’re proud of the enthusiasm and effort our students continue to show across all areas of learning.
