Olympic Excitement Sweeps Through the Primary School with Fun and Games
Olympic Fever has hit the Primary sector of the School. Commencing with an opening ceremony the ‘spuds’ paraded around the oval in their respective year levels. Events were carried out throughout the duration of the Olympics across classes and year levels.
Students crafted unique potato athletes and competed in events like Hill Rolling and Spud Shot Slam. The room has been filled with excitement and creativity as the spuds showcased their talents. The students had a blast cheering on their potato champions, making it a fantastic display of sportsmanship and fun. Other year levels have also been able to witness the fun by the engaging and entertaining videos created by the Year 5 students.
Our Prep students participated in a Nursery Rhyme Mini Olympics. The event was a fantastic success, filled with laughter, excitement, and wonderful displays of sportsmanship.
The Prep students began with the Opening Ceremony, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead. The children loved parading with the flags they made and listening to the crowd cheer them on.
We then got started with the themed events:
Miss Muffet's Spider Escape - Rhythmic Gymnastics
I'm a Little Teapot - Beanbag Throw
Twinkle Twinkle's Shooting Star Frisbee
The Wheels on the Bus Wheel Roll
Little Bo Peep's Sheep Find
Jack Be Nimble's Hurdles
Baa Baa Black Sheep's Sack Race
Humpty Dumpty's Egg and Spoon Race
The Humpty Dumpty Egg and Spoon Race was a competitor and crowd favourite, with gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded. With beaming smiles, the children proudly stood on the podium, showing off their medals.
We concluded the morning with a Closing Ceremony, celebrating the children's efforts and achievements. It was wonderful to see the smiles on their faces as they received their participation medals and celebrated with their family and friends.
We are proud of our young athletes and look forward to more fun and learning experiences together
Primary Students Show Remarkable Progress in Interschool Hockey
It has been wonderful to see the massive improvement in the students throughout the Primary Interschool Sport Friday sessions. All students, except for one, have never played the sport previously. The games in Week 3 displayed teamwork and an increase in the understanding of the game with all students participating, and the team winning their fixtures. Congratulations to Bryleigh for scoring her first goal!
Spinning Success: NED Program Inspires Students with Yo-Yo Performance
Last Tuesday, the Primary school was full of excitement as students gathered for an unforgettable performance by the NED Program. NED, a lovable cartoon character whose name stands for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best, took centre stage - bringing with him not just words of wisdom but a whirlwind of yo-yo tricks that left everyone in awe.
As the dynamic presenter introduced NED's core principles, students watched, mesmerised, as intricate yo-yo manoeuvres painted illustrations of perseverance, support, and excellence. Each spin, loop, and trick was meticulously tied to life lessons that resonated deeply with the young audience. Students were reminded of the significance of persistently striving towards their goals, uplifting their peers, and consistently putting forth their best effort in all endeavours.
We extend our thanks for delivering such an engaging and inspiring performance. It's not every day that a spinning toy becomes an engaging topic for life-changing lessons. As NED would say, let's all remember to Never give up, Encourage others, and Do our best!
100 Days Brighter
On Thursday of Week 2, the Prep cohort celebrated the annual event of 100 days of school. To celebrate this momentous occasion, students dressed in their brightest of bright clothing for the day with matching accessories to boot!
Throughout the day, the girls participated in so many fun and exciting activities celebrating their learning this year so far, as well as exploring the number 100 through arts, crafts, exercises and STEAM activities. Parents and grandparents joined in the fun with their Preppies too which made a wonderful day even more special.
Some of the girls’ favourite activities were the 100 year old self portraits, 100 red cup construction, 100 bead necklaces and the exciting brightest of bright potions mix up.
You will see from the photos that this was a truly magical day for the girls, their families and the staff too. We can’t wait to start planning for next year’s 100 day celebration!
