Interschool Competitions
Interschool Futsal and Volleyball wrapped up their round games this week.
The Interschool Futsal competition was very strong this year with almost double the number of teams participating. It is great to see the sport growing so much in 12 months. The Girls Grammar teams had great fun developing their skills at training on Tuesdays and in their games each Wednesday. With such a strong competition the teams didn’t make it through to finals, but they certainly had a blast each week. Season highlights included the junior team’s epic 5-1 win against TCC after a mad dash across town due to a late draw change that had them at the wrong venue. Thanks to Miss Lacoste and Mrs Whitehand for your coaching expertise in this short but enjoyable season.
The Interschool Volleyball teams are seeing better success with the juniors having an undefeated run and the seniors with only one loss. The junior team has been very dominant winning all games in straight sets across the rounds. They spent time helping the opposition teams develop their skills by mixing teams up and playing a third set for fun. It was great to see the girls giving back and passing on their knowledge while teaching skills to their new found friends. Finals are being played next Tuesday and we wish the girls all the best.
