On Friday, 15 October RGGS travelled down to Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club to compete in the Central Qld Region of the Secondary School Surf League for 2021.
The program has been designed to introduce students to surf lifesaving skills and competition. Eight dedicated young women competed in ocean swims, board races, competitive relays in the water, on the sand as well as beach flags. Overall the school placed fourth against much larger teams and over eight different schools in the region. Well done to those who came along including a few who are not actively involved in Surf Life Saving or currently members of a club but wanted to see what it is all about.
The league challenged and enabled students to test their abilities against themselves, the environment and students from other schools as well as forming mixed teams across different schools.
