On Wednesday, students from Prep to Year 11 enjoyed a vibrant and exciting Transition Day. All primary students, including new enrolments, had the opportunity to spend time in their 2026 classrooms and meet their teacher for the upcoming year. At Girls Grammar, we believe this is an important step in helping students feel confident and comfortable in their new surroundings, easing any worries they may have had.
Our 2025 Prep students joined Mrs Bennett for a fun-filled morning session. They engaged in hands-on activities, shared plenty of smiles, and enjoyed a playful time in the playground. For most, this was their second visit to the school after their transition session earlier in the year, which also helped with familiarisation.
Students transitioning into Years 1 to 11 joined vibrant Sisters groups, building friendships across the school while taking part in an exciting scavenger hunt that showcased our campus and celebrated the spirit of connection. Happy faces were everywhere as students met new friends and discovered the joy of belonging to a supportive community. Afterwards, they headed to their 2026 classrooms, where teachers had prepared engaging and creative activities that sparked laughter and excitement.
Our Year 6 cohort, preparing for the big step into high school, spent the day with current Year 7 classes. This experience gave them a sense of familiarity and confidence as they explored the wider school environment. Being a Prep to Year 12 school is a real advantage - students were already accustomed to visiting specialist classrooms and learning from subject experts, making the transition smoother.
The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, and it was clear that students left feeling happy, reassured, and eager to return in 2026 for another year of learning and growth. We were thrilled to see so many smiling faces and positive energy as one school year ended and the next awaits.
To our parents, current and incoming, thank you for supporting your child through this important transition. Seeing so many happy faces and confident smiles was a wonderful way to finish the year. We are excited for the learning adventures that await in 2026 and look forward to welcoming your family back for another year of growth, connection, and joy. If you have any questions about your child’s transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out - we’re here to help make the start of the new school year as smooth and positive as possible.
