Unforgettable Performances Light Up Girls Rock 2025

Girls Rock 2025 was another unforgettable celebration of talent, creativity, and passion, bringing together students from Prep right through to Year 12. The night was full of energy, artistry, and those heart‑warming moments that remind us why the performing arts matter so much.

The Hip Hop Crew kicked things off with a high‑energy routine that had the audience buzzing from the very first beat. Year 12 students Taylah Jacobson and Saphron Davis deserve a huge shoutout for not only choreographing the piece but also teaching it to more than 50 students. Their leadership set the tone for the evening, and the applause they received was more than deserved.

Our primary school performers melted hearts with their confidence and charm. Two choirs, led by Ms Dawes and accompanied by Ms Bond, had everyone smiling with their renditions of Splish Splash and There Once Was a Guy with a Ping Pong Ball. The Year 5 class performance of Golden was a joy to watch, while solos from Willow Jones and Olivia Atkinson showed off poise and skill well beyond their years. Year 1 student Freya Coldwell lit up the stage with her boundless energy, Savannah Richards gave a powerhouse performance of Defying Gravity, and Matilda Sayer wowed us with her piano playing. The range of talent in our younger students was truly inspiring.

Older students and performance groups kept the momentum going. Show Team brought their trademark boot‑scooting flair, while Bella Voce and Molti Voce delivered stunning harmonies in a medley of Frozen and Eatnemen Vuelie. Dance Company impressed with their musical theatre number New Money, and the senior music class delighted with a clever performance of Price Tag, duetting with their younger selves on video. Concert Band had the crowd pumped with their rendition of Eye of the Tiger.

Soloists and small groups added even more sparkle to the night. Every student who stepped onto the stage gave it their all, and it was clear how much hard work had gone into each performance.

One of the most exciting moments came with the announcement of next year’s musical. The Staff Act entertained us with a playful look back at the history of Girls Grammar musicals, before revealing that 2026 will bring Beauty and the Beast — performed at the Pilbeam Theatre for the very first time. The staff’s commitment to making this announcement memorable was fantastic.

The Year 12 cohort closed the show with a crowd‑favourite routine that left everyone in awe. Their choreography was a fitting farewell to their school years. Congratulations, Year 12s!

A special thank you goes to Cadence and Ella, our 2025 Head Girls, who kept the night flowing with humour and quick thinking.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedication of the arts team and all the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes both at rehearsal and on the night. Your commitment ensured the show ran seamlessly.

Girls Rock 2025 was a triumph. Congratulations to everyone involved — you’ve made us all incredibly proud. Here’s to another amazing year of performing arts!
