As we bid farewell to the 2023 school year, the boarding community eagerly welcomed 17 new boarders for the upcoming 2024 academic year. This week served as an immersive experience for them, allowing them to embrace the distinctive boarding lifestyle synonymous with the excellence of Girls Grammar.
Our current boarders demonstrated warm hospitality, extending a hearty welcome to the newcomers who joined us for both day and overnight activities. The atmosphere was vibrant as the girls indulged in poolside fun, laughter, and games on the multipurpose court. They also had the opportunity to bond with senior boarders and supervisors, creating connections that will enrich their boarding experience.
Meals in the dining room provided not only nourishment but also a glimpse into the daily routines that define our boarding community. The new boarders departed with smiles, eagerly anticipating the adventures that await them in the coming year at our exceptional school.
The existing boarders played a pivotal role in acclimating the 'newbies' to the intricacies of boarding life, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity. Furthermore, our Information session on Wednesday morning drew a fantastic turnout of new parents from both the day school and boarding, reinforcing the sense of community that defines our school.
As we bid adieu to our girls heading off for the break, especially those not returning in 2024, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a bright and successful future. We encourage them to drop by and visit us in Rockhampton whenever they are in the area.
To all our boarders and their families, we, the supervisors, express our sincere wishes for a safe and relaxing summer break. We look forward to reuniting with new boarders on Sunday, 21 January, at 2.00pm, and welcoming back our continuing boarders from 10.00am on Monday, 22 January.
