As the sun rises at the beginning of this new school year, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of our Girls Grammar families. It was wonderful to see the school buzzing with excitement on the first day, as students returned. A special shout-out to our new students; we are overjoyed to have you with us and can’t wait to embark on this educational journey together. Our dedicated team of staff are committed to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for every student, to ensure your year is filled with growth, exploration and achievement.
Girls Grammar is committed to developing the whole girl, giving every opportunity to become clever, confident and connected, and I am excited to announce that this year we are delivering a newly revised Pastoral Care Program, centered around Neuroscience for Learning. The change in the Pastoral Care Program is aimed to support the holistic development of our students, focusing on addressing social and emotional wellbeing of each student. Embedded within the Pastoral Care Program, is the Brainwise School program; this program aims to teach our students about the brain and how the brain impacts on emotion, learning and memory. It targets students in building their self-regulation of emotion so that they can be learning ready, providing them with strategies in becoming learning ready, self-efficacy and the development of their social skills.
As we dive into a new chapter of learning, let us all work together to make this school year a memorable and successful one. Here’s to a year of discovery, friendship and achievements, in which ever form they may be.
Wishing you all a fantastic year ahead.
