This term, the Food and Textiles department has been buzzing with creativity, with Year 4 to Year 12 students showcasing their skills across a range of practical and innovative projects.
Our Year 4 students perfected hand-sewing techniques by crafting felt emoji keyrings, while Year 6 explored textile design through intricate woven wall hangings. Year 7 focused on sewing tote bags with a sustainable message, developing essential skills, safe equipment use, and thoughtful design.
Senior Hospitality students applied their Culinary Trends learning to create hybrid foods for a modern wedding menu, combining flavours and techniques from multiple cuisines to produce innovative and visually appealing dishes.
In Senior Fashion, students integrated 3D printing into garment design, using their creations as the centerpiece of full marketing campaigns with billboards, social media content, and magazine covers to showcase strong brand identities.
This technological exploration also inspired Year 8 students to design and produce functional, sustainable 3D-printed buttons.
Meanwhile, Year 9–10 students took on the challenge of designing a Polynesian-inspired Ben & Jerry’s line extension, developing creative flavours alongside thoughtful packaging and branding concepts.
Across all year levels, students have demonstrated impressive creativity, technical skill, and enthusiasm, making this term an exciting celebration of innovation in Food and Textiles.
