As the year draws to a close, our Physical Education classes have been making a splash - literally and figuratively! Term 4 has been packed with energy, learning, and plenty of fun across all year levels.
Our youngest students from Prep to Year 4 took to the water with enthusiasm during their swimming lessons with the fantastic instructors from Splash-A-Bout Swim School. These sessions focused on building essential water safety skills and developing swimming strokes. The smiles on their faces said it all - it was a joy to see their confidence grow with every splash!
The senior primary students in Years 5 and 6 stepped up their swimming game, working on stroke correction and diving into water-based games. The laughter and excitement from the pool could be heard echoing across the school grounds!
Back on dry land, Year 7 explored the fascinating stages of human development, discussing how physical activity and exercise evolve as we age. In practical lessons, they embraced traditional Indigenous Games, showing creativity by modifying their chosen games to enhance skill development. A wonderful blend of cultural appreciation and active learning!
Safety was the focus for our middle school students. Year 8 honed their first aid skills, learning how to assess, manage, and treat sports injuries - all while enjoying Tee-Ball and Cricket activities. Year 9 took things to the next level, tackling emergency first aid for life-threatening situations, including lifesaving techniques and water rescues requiring CPR. These are invaluable skills that empower our students to act confidently in critical moments.
Our senior students have been thinking deeply about the bigger picture in sport. Year 11 investigated ethics and integrity dilemmas, devising strategies to overcome these challenges. Their discussions highlighted the importance of fairness and respect in all sporting contexts - a vital lesson for future leaders in sport and beyond.
This term has been a celebration of learning, teamwork, and resilience. From the pool to the classroom, our students have shown incredible growth and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see what they achieve next!
