This term, our Year 7 students have been turning imagination into innovation in Digital Technologies!
Armed with BBC micro:bits, they’ve stepped into the world of wearable devices - designing, building, and coding their own creations. The challenge? Design a wearable device that addresses a genuine problem in the real world. Students brainstormed ideas, designed attachments, and programmed their devices to respond in clever ways. The classroom buzzed with creativity as lights flashed, alarms sounded, and messages zipped across screens!
One creative student invented a dog-powered security system! When the family dog barks because someone’s breaking in, the device springs into action - sending an alert to the owner, flashing lights, and sounding an alarm. Talk about tech with teeth! From fitness helpers to safety solutions, these projects show how our students are learning coding, problem-solving, and design thinking - all while having fun. We’re so proud of their creativity and can’t wait to see what they dream up next. Who knows - the next big tech trend might start right here in Year 7!
