After more than a year of delays to the scheduled transformer upgrade, I can announce that our transformer is booked in from Monday 27 November.
For those unaware, our current transformer requires close and consistent monitoring during the warmer months due to the added load from air conditioning and is in dire need of upgrading to meet the need for daily operations. This timely upgrade will facilitate the power supply required to accommodate current demands, future growth and capital projects for our school.
The great news is that Term 4 finishes on Friday 24 November and no students will be on site. When we all return in January, we will have a new and improved transformer that won’t be at risk of blowing on those steamy summer days in February - March.
The not so great (and unavoidable) news is that the school will be without power for two weeks from Monday 27 November. During this time staff will be working offsite and from home. Reception will remain accessible via email and phone, as calls to the school will be diverted offsite, and all staff who are still working during this time will be contactable including Executive staff, Finance team and Enrolments Officer. Any enrolment interviews will take place online via Microsoft teams during this period of time as there will be no physical access on site to Reception or the Uniform Shop from Monday 27 November throughout all of December.
The three-week Reception Christmas shut down period will remain as calendared from 16 December – 8 January.
Reception will re-open for the new year on Monday 8 January and the Uniform Shop will re-open on Thursday 4 January for extended hours to make up for the time missed in December.
All visits to the Uniform Shop will be by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call Reception on 4930 0900 so these appointments can be booked throughout December in preparation for January. To accommodate family’s needs, we have extended the Uniform Shop’s operating hours during the last week of Term 4, whilst not mandatory to book for access in November it is highly recommended and bookings will be given priority service.
