Our Girls Grammar community partnerships are continuing to keep our girls connected.
The past couple of weeks this has been evident with the activities we have been a part of. Our indigenous girls have performed at local primary schools and the Rockhampton River festival (RiverFest) in the last couple of weeks. It has been a wonderful way for our girls to connect with our community and proudly share their culture. We also joined St Brendan and St Ursula colleges on Sunday for a fun filled day called 'A Minute to Win It'. It was a wonderful day of games and activities indoors and outdoors competing against the other schools. We are fortunate to have forged these relationships with these schools.
Girls Grammar boarders are involved in traineeships and courses in Rockhampton each week. These girls get the opportunity to network, work and learn with like-minded people in the community. Currently we have girls doing courses in Cert II in (Aircraft) Line Maintenance, Cert II in Electrotechnology, Cert III in Hospitality, Cert III in Health Services Assistance, Cert IV in Design, Cert II in Animal Care, and Cert III in Sports and Recreation. Our boarders are fortunate to have the opportunity to gain real-life experience and get a head start on their careers should they choose to continue along these pathways.
On another note, this term we will be sending out a parent and boarder survey for feedback regarding our Boarding Program. We hope that many of you will complete this survey to help us achieve best practice in Boarding. Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say.
Have a great weekend.
