Our dedicated Girls Grammar Dance Company attended the Dance X Competition held in Bundaberg on the 29 July. This was our first competition outside of the Rockhampton region since 2019!
We had an unforgettable weekend and some great results with our group performances achieving a 4th, 3rd and two 2nd places. All qualified through to the competition finals held later this year which was a fantastic achievement! We also had Kara Lee Buckton, Tayla Williams, Cruiz Donnelly and Claudia Heffer perform in solo or audition sections with Tayla Williams placing 5th in the audition Jazz section. Shoutout to Kara Lee Buckton who received a special award of ‘secondary stand out performer’ chosen from all groups who performed at the competition. She also received a 5th for her solo, 3rd for Jazz audition and 2nd for Contemporary/Lyrical audition. Our full dance team consisted of; Hannah Cowan, Claudia Heffer, Megan Clark, Bethanie Green, Kara Lee Buckton, Carrie Mtize, Tayla Williams, Cruiz Donnelly and Taylah Jacobson. Congratulations to all members of Girls Grammar Dance Company!
As a coach I was so proud to see them take the stage and grow as a team across the weekend. A HUGE thank you to Miss Girle, Lyndel and Neil Armstrong for being fearless supporters throughout the weekend and helping us get to Bundaberg!
